All of the ADR for BullsEye is complete at last! The trailers have been edited and submitted to the music and sound department. Tuesday I await for news on our game plan for the rest of the production.
Meanwhile, the CGI is improving vastly.
These are very exciting times!
I moved news from over 2 months ago into a discussion called Archive News, for anyone interested in reading about the past.
The website is under construction as well with a complete revamp. It's going to look perty... and bloody, because you know how I much I love blood in my movies.
More updates soon!

6/3/10
So, we are long last in the audio part of the production. Personally, I've been having a lot more free time on my hands. My Sound and Music guys are currently beefing up the film with audio. We do have a release date that is estimated, but I don't want to announce it simply because I don't want to let people down... again, considering that nothing is certain but death and taxes. We'll announce it as we get close to it. The trailer is currently being worked on, and hopefully soon we'll have it up on the internet. We're nearly finished with ADR. It's tough to get this done, considering it takes so long per character and that we only usually have 1 session a week. While the sound and music is being worked on, I have a chance to go back and work on the CGI to make it look more realistic. My latest work at home, shows that I am fully capable of making photorealistic or very close to it, CGI. I'm also at the same time going to be beefing up the website with a complete design as well as a press kit. The final cut of the film is of course already complete by now. The film is roughly 80 minutes, quite an accomplishment. There will be 2 trailers to the film. The CGI is looking better than ever already. The introduction looks a lot more realistic because of the lighting and spacial adjustments I've made. I also replaced every vehicle in the city with models that are 4X more detailed. Overall, I can say that this is gonna be one kick ass movie!

Things are getting really exciting again! We have a deadline 2 weeks from now to complete all of the CGI and I believe we'll be making it. Once that is done the sound and scoring of the film will comense. In the event that I do not make it in time, I will simply render out my animations in low resolution. 15 short animations left. Most of them are only like 2-3 second long clips. That's about 48-72 frames of rendering each. And most of them are only an object that has to be rendered in blank space... It's complicated, I'd have to really explain how it works. Some animations are literally 5-15 frames.

3/23/10
We have finished ADR with tiffanys character. All that's left is Steve and the extras.

3/21/10
I know that I said the estimated release date would be sometime this month an d I'm sorry for getting your hopes up, but the film wont be released this month or next. Keep in mind we're rendering HD CGI which takes longer than you think, especially if you have complex scenes that need to be close to photorealistic. I can tell you all, that you wont be dissapointed. We have so far completed ADR for Aaron's character, Bobby's character, and Ayesha's character. We are doing ADR for Tiffany's character tomorrow and then scheduling ADR for Steve's character and the extras as well. As far as the CGI goes, we are nearing the finish of it. I have left 3 more city racing CGI shots left. After that we have to do the cgi for when they are outside the city.

12/14/09
We have completed the ADR sessions for Aaron. We are planning for the next actor/actress.

12/7/09
We have begun ADR and are having a looping session this thursday!

11/24/09
A lot has happened in the last month.
We have a new animator helping out, and may even get another one.
We may also have 2 more people helping out with Foley and ADR.
We will begin ADR very soon, within the next 2 if not 3 weeks.
I have begun color correction on a few clips and the film itself looks 100 X better, and that's not an exaggeration. It's like night and day. I honestly feel that the quality looks as if it were shot on film.
Once ADR is complete we will have a sound spotting session and a music spotting session. After that my sound a music guys will be doing there thing while I'm finessing the 3d Animations.

10/25/09
So the film is essentially finished in terms of just putting together our footage in a sequence. We still need to go back and cut down scenes, even remove some or parts of some. We have 3 shots remaining that we need to get... but they're only exterior shots, nothing too hard. We've had a few set backs, but we're still moving strong.
Currently I am going back and cutting down scenes and in general making things tighter and faster paced. I'm also currently working on the CGI of the film (bullets flying, sparks, debris, cars racing). I've already practically completed one animation where we see one of the characters walk in front of the camera and a CGI train moves past them from behind very quickly. There is a list on my wall of 91 animations and graphics that I need to complete for this film. So there, that's why this film is going to take a while to do. Fortunately a lo of the animations are just gun fire and debris, and fortunately most of the animations are short quick clips which don't need too much detail. To make things go faster I've recruited someone to help out with CGI, and she will be taking care of all the gun fire while I do the much harder/ time consuming things such as car races and such. I think I'm going to try to recruit more people online... Who knows, I might find a bunch of people who are much better than me.
We have also recently recruited a Supervising Sound Editor/Dialogue Editor. He wants us to recruit another sound designer simply because the amount of work that needs to be done is simple beyond the roof. So we are currently looking around for more in that area also.
By the end of this week, we should have every scene completed in terms of shooting and reshoots. We do of course have 1 last dance we wanted to film which would go in the credit roll. It doesn't have much to do with the plot, but it would be great to have.
The website is changing as you can see by the new menu. I might re-render it, and remove the background lights. I feel like it makes it look too happy. Any thoughts? The new photos and posters should be up within 3 weeks time as claimed by the photographer.

I did some more cutting at a lot of scenes, making them more exciting. After watching a few episodes of Prison Break, I noticed they had excellent race sequences and I didn't understand why mine weren't as cool. I noticed that they used the same shots as me, so that couldn't be it. However, it was the editing. They used really fast paced editing to the point where you don't really know exactly where the drivers are, you just know they're racing and trying to lose one another. So I took that idea, and now it looks fantastic in my opinion. Also, after speaking with a colleague of mine, I showed him 1 shot from the bar scene, he recommended that I change it, and I found a better shot as well. Also, I cut down the western scene a lot, making the jokes funnier. I also realized that the scene with Marcus is going to be cut down probably at least 30% if not more. This weekend we have a screening of the film with me, the sound designer, composer, key grip, and one of my trusted colleagues. We will be discussing and brainstorming sound design for the film.

10/01/09
So at last all the major required scenes are finished being film. I can technically put together the film right now, but it of course wouldn't look as amazing if we don't do some small reshoots. As of now, we just need a few reshoots and shoots of certain shots. There are about 12 shots I need to get. All the shots range from 1 or 2 lines with very little action, but I need them. We are going to start sound design sooner than ever. We also recently finished the photoshoots which have been planned for a long time. The photos should be up sometime this weekend, and the websites layout and design will be completely different. After the 12 shots we need to get, there's also one last dance we need to get filmed which we are still rehearsing. It's not "required" but it'll only make the film better. We found a replacement for the actress that had to be removed, and she is amazingly not only identical to the viewer but even more beautiful.
Our new dance choreographer seems to be very committed and not about to leave anytime soon. She is also very talented and excellent to work with. So basically so far, everything has been leveled and we're back to normal after the crisis. The movie is looking better than ever, and things are getting cut left and right. In the editing room, we are at 1 hour and 20 minutes (without the reshoots, the last dance, and without the club scene edited in).
In other news, I recently did an interview with Dennis Comella. I'm not sure where it'll be posted yet, so we'll see. I haven't even touched the CGI yet, I'll get on that as soon as we finish looping and filming. Although, I have finished that book at last, and let me tell you, it helped me a lot. I've saved so much time now with my renderings because I actually know what I'm doing exactly. So in summary, everything is great, everyone is happy, and life is amazing! I can't be happier! We're almost done, and I am really going to miss everyone single person that participated in the making of this film, including everyone that supported me. I'm going to miss James with his camera following me everywhere I go and getting every meaningless thing I say, hahaha. I'm going to miss all the laughs and experiences, even the struggles. I'm going to miss the stress. I honestly feel like we did not just grow as friends but as a family. I am happy and proud of everyone, as well as honored to have worked with all of you. Thank you for all your hard work and support.

The release date has been pushed back to February 2010 due to scheduling conflicts and simply the amount of work that still needs to be done. We have roughly 1.75 scenes left to do. Most of that should be covered next weekend and the rest should be covered on the 26th of this month.
In the editing studio our sequence has marked 2 hours in length... and we there are still 3 big scenes to put in. At this rate I wouldn't be suprised if we hit 2.5-3 hours. In other words, we'll be doing A LOT of tightening to get this whole thing down to 1.5-2 hours. We recently went through a very long photoshoot which we didn't complete but will very soon. We also had to remove a cast member for constant MIA at the last minute and just because of the amount of times the actor was over 2 hours late. Had I not done so, it wouldn't be fair to the rest of the cast and crew who are always there and always on time.
Other than that, life is good!
We have a new dance choreographer who is dedicated, thanks to the all mighty Justin Ladeau. As of now, I have edited everything in the film from the very begining of the script to right before the club scene, then starting again right after the bar scene to right before the last scene of the film where we make the "steak" joke. It's all coming together and it's coming together very fast.

9/9/09

We have filmed practically the entire movie at this point. We only have a few reshoots of certain shots as well 1.5 scenes left to shoot.
After that, we will proceed in the post production stage of Looping. We might need to loop the entire film, or at least a big part of it if we want the best audio quality.
I've gotten a lot more editing done. I just finished the race as well as touched up on the fight scenes and tightened things up to make them more fast paced.
We have our photoshoot this weekend as well as a regular shoot.
Things are really exciting right now. This year long project is turning out great. After all the planning and creativity, this film looks just as I envisioned it, nothing less.

9/1/09

As I near the end of the book on 3d, I go back to editing so that we can start preparing for looping at the studio. We recently have finished the first dance and are preparing for the 2nd dance as well as the upcoming bar scene. The filming stage is nearing it's end.

8/19/09

I'm either a ridiculously fast editor, or we didn't do enough takes... For those who have the script, I've already edited from the car ride with Cherice all the way through to Dick's enterance in the basement! Upon the editing, I realized we forgot to film 1 line by Charlie. While this line is very important, if we can't do it I think I can figure out a way around it. We're gonna try to film it on the photoshoot day. Because it's only 1 line... I'm going back to my 3D now for a little bit. This saturday is a big day. We have 3 scenes to film. The dance scene, the very last scene of the film, and hopefully the scene with Jenny on the phone... I think another reason for my speedy editing is that I'm editing on 2 monitors. I'm also not dealing with as many crashes as I would on the PC.

9/18/09

Some big changes these past few days. First of all, my sleep schedule has been thrown way off. I've been waking up at 5pm and going to bed at 5am. Today I managed to get up at 12 with little to no sleep, so hopefully I'll fix it.
There is a big chance that the film will be in color all the way through. The way we'll decide this is that I'll make 2 versions of the film; one in black and white and one in color. We'll screen it in front of the cast/crew and decide from then.
Editing has come to a slight halt these past few days as I have been working on the 3D.
Now I am going to take a break from reasing my 3d books, and go back to editing.
We have recently filmed a bunch of the fight scenes. We have 1 big fight scene left. I'm thinking of throwing in 1 more, of just Dick vs. another guy I know, who's... big.
I've also purchased a copy of the soundtracks from Dark City and Dark Knight so I could listen to that instead of Pandora. It just gives me more of a chill when I edit, and lets me see a preview of coming attractions. I'm not going to use it as temp music, in other words I'm not going to syncronize it or anything, but it'll keep me entertained.
Little by little, this film is coming together. I keep getting asked, "when can I see this film?", "When is it coming out?" and I just keep answering, "When it's done."
This film has to be absolutely perfect, diamond quality, crisp, clean, and flawless if we want it to take us places. This film has to be the one, and it is my every intention to make it that way.

8/12/09

I have pushed back the release date, and there's a good chance it may get pushed back even more. There is still a lot to be done despite the editing is moving fast. We still have to score it, loop any audio that doesn't cut it, sound design it, color correct every shot to perfection, model and render the 3d animations, and as you all know we haven't even finished shooting. And I'm hoping we'll finish by mid/late september. I'm also constructing the website which also takes up some of my time. Right now it's in it's most earliest stage. There will be flash animations and all of the sort on there to make it very flashy and cool.

8/4/09

I have finished editing the rooftop scene, and the Rachel and Dick scene immediately after. I am going to start designing the website tonight, and take a little break from editing.

8/2/09

The Rooftop scene is 90% edited. I have just completed a fight scene. This means that I am about 30-40% finished with editing the composition.

7/31/09

About 50% of the Rooftop Scene has been edited. Don't get your hopes up, this does not mean it's perfected. I've only put together the best shots I found of everything in the order presented in the script. I still need to tighten it, color correct and all the other 100 things. I haven't even touched sound yet. But hey, having something edited is the first step to perfecting it. Saturday we got a hell of a day. Finishing the club scene, and doing fight scenes at Brookdale CC and in New Brunswick. In my honest opinion, everything looks incredible. I find myself listening to Pandora while editing so I can get some kinda idea of how it'll overall feel when complete.

7/29/09

Editing is being done from beginning to end. For now, until I have the rest of it, I have skipped the club scene in editing. That put me right into the Rooftop Scene. Everything before that is done, at least of what I have. Of course, I still need to look over it another 100 times and tighten it and stuff. Then we have to score it and work with narration. The website is officially working, but nothing has been put on it. The website is, http://www.bullseyemovie.com.

The Editing Process Of This Film Has Begun.
